La cultura Giapponese mi affascina da sempre, forse perchè così lontana dalla nostra. Ho avuto la fortuna di poter lavorare per parecchi anni, come stilista, per Takashimaya Co. LTD ( per chi non lo conoscesse uno dei più grandi department store in Giappone ), e ancora oggi conservo un bellissimo ricordo di persone splendide e generose. I giapponesi hanno un appeal molto diverso dal nostro, sono servizievoli, molto educati, ossequiosi, ligi al rispetto della loro cultura e delle loro regole verso il prossimo. Per farvi un esempio, non si usa in Giappone, quando ci si saluta, abbracciarsi e bacirsi, nè stringersi la mano … i Giapponesi congiungono le mani come in una preghiera e chinano il capo in segno di rispetto. La cosa che mi ha sempre colpito di più della loro cultura è questo profondo rispetto che nutrono nel prossimo. In Giappone tutto è come se fosse una leggera danza delicata e leggera. Avete presente i famosi ciliegi fioriti mossi dal vento? Ecco. Inoltre la mia città, Como, è gemellata con la città di Tokamachi, città giapponese di oltre 70 mila abitanti, situata nel distretto di Niigata, un centinaio di chilometri a nord-ovest di Tokyo, e vengono spesso promosse iniziative tra le due città e gli abitanti stessi.

Di contro però i Giapponesi esplodono in bizzarria esagerata quando si parla di moda e abbigliamento. Soprattutto in grandi città come Tokyo, non esiste alcun tipo di limitazione nel vestirsi, anzi, più si è eccentrici meglio è! La fantasia è illimitata, dando vita a “eserciti” di giovani alquanto buffi e bizzarri! Ammetto che solo i giapponesi potrebbero vestirsi così senza sembrare ridicoli! Perciò lasciamolo fare a loro! Non so se ne abbiate mai visitato uno, ma vi consiglio di farvi un giro su qualche sito di fashion blogger giapponesi, come http://www.tokyofashion.com, fantastico!

Quando il kimono si stravolge e si trasforma in un abito moderno ed eccentrico, chiuso da un obi vintage, scarpe di Mezzo Piano e borsa Vivienne Westwood. Questo è il Giappone, libero sfogo alla propria fantasia, libero sfogo alla propria personalità. Colori accesi, caleidoscopio di idee e innovazione. Niente e nulla è limitato, tutto è concesso nello stile. E ciò che appare “troppo” raggiunge un equilibrio che per i nostri canoni di stile sembra quantomeno precario, ma tutto sommato non lo è. Basta osare e indossare.
